Cutting Hall: Chicago's top class performing arts center | welcome ...

To promote varied cultural programs, Cutting Hall, a modern and unique performing arts center was founded in Chicago.

Cutting Hall is Chicago?s recreational resource facility facilitating the needs of the artists from different northwest towns across the state. This performing arts center is maintained and run by the Palatine Park District. It is one of the few regional recreation group owned.

Cutting Hall Background

Cutting Hall got its name from the first principal of Palatine Senior high school, Charles Cutting. He was a dedicated teacher, attorney and an esteemed judge in Cook County. Cutting Hall was established on 1928 and used to be a Palatine High School auditorium. It is nestled in Palatine, Illinois.

It boosts with approximately 440 seats and was the place of art productions of students in Palatine High. Gustave Bandt, one of the famous artists in the early part of the 20th century was the man who is credited for its charming interior decorations. Its interior is decorated with hand-painted wooden pillars. The auditorium has six tiffany-kind lamp pillars which utilize gas to power.

It has a seating capasity of 440 and was utilized originally as staging stage productions of Palatine High School. Its interior, designed by Gustave Bandt, has hand -painted wooden pillars.
