We found that adults with ADHD were randomized to receive either meta-cognitive therapy or a support group, said Dr. Solanto. This is the first time we have demonstrated the efficacy of a non-drug treatment for ADHD in adults in a study that compared active treatment against a control group that was equivalent in therapist time to care and support. In a normal flame, like a candle, soot is formed small flame and burns near the top, said Sunderland. However, there is much overlap, making it difficult to measure the formation and oxidation rate. In this double flame, the flame soot oxidation has the highest, so there is no overlap and thus the rate of oxidation can be measured more accurately .

Meta-cognitive therapy uses cognitive-behavioral principles and methods to teach the techniques and strategies for time management, organization and planning. Also targeted were depressed and anxious thoughts and ideas that undermine effective self-management. The group of supportive therapy adapted MCT group with respect to aspects of non-specific treatment, such as providing support for the participants, avoiding discussion of time management, organization and planning strategies.

Maria Solanto, Ph.D. The project aims to improve time management, organization and planning skills / abilities in adults with ADHD.

The study looked at 88 adults with ADHD are diagnosed with rigor, which were selected for interviews and standardized questionnaires after diagnosis. Participants were randomly assigned to receive meta-cognitive therapy or supportive psychotherapy in a group setting.

The groups were similar with the use of medication for ADHD.
